What is Over-the-Top Media (OTT)?
OTT media goes beyond traditional web pages and social media for video advertising. It leverages smart TVs and other devices with television network apps to stream video ads directly to users. OTT provides consumers with full control over what they watch, available around the clock, which leads to exceptionally high engagement with the content.
Originally, OTT referred to devices that bypassed cable or satellite boxes to deliver content over the internet. Today, OTT includes smart TVs, computers, laptops, and smartphones, as well as HDMI/WiFi-enabled devices like Google Chromecast, Xbox, Apple TV, and Roku.
OTT platforms feature a variety of apps and channels such as CBS, Food Network, HGTV, Showtime, HBO, and more!
